How to get to Paestum

From Naples International Airport Capodichino (NAP), travellers can take the Alibus shuttle to Naples Central Station and then board a Trenitalia regional train to Paestum. Alternatively, a taxi or private transfer can be arranged.

If arriving at Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport (QSR), travellers can take the Salerno Airlink shuttle bus to Salerno Railway Station and continue by Trenitalia regional train to Paestum. As an alternative, the direct CIAV shuttle bus service is available (for information and ticket purchases, visit the Consorzio A.V. website).

Other options include taking a taxi or renting a car, with a journey time of approximately 30 minutes from Salerno Airport.

Many regional trains from Naples and Salerno Central Station stop at Paestum Railway Station.

• From Salerno: approximately 30–40 minutes by train.
• From Naples: several direct regional services operate daily, with journey times ranging from 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, depending on the train.

Once at Paestum Railway Station, the Paestum Archaeological Park can be reached on foot in approximately 15 minutes by following the road through Porta Marina.

If travelling from Salerno, Busitalia Campania Line 34 connects Salerno Railway Station with Paestum Railway Station.
Other operators, including SITA Sud and Autolinee Giuliano Bus, run several routes between Naples, Salerno, and the Cilento area, with stops in Paestum (Lines 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10).

The most direct route is via the A3 Salerno–Reggio Calabria motorway.

• From the north: take the Battipaglia exit, then continue south along the SS 18 state road.
• From the south: take the Eboli exit, then join the SS 18 state road heading north.

From the SS 18, take the Capaccio Scalo exit and follow the signs for Via Laura/Paestum.

• From Battipaglia: approximately 23 km
• From Eboli: approximately 20 km

The Capaccio Scalo/Capaccio Paestum exit is a convenient access point for reaching both the historic centre of Capaccio (located on higher ground) and Paestum town (the area that includes the archaeological site and the coastal area).
