Guided Visit to the Certosa di Padula
The Certosa di San Lorenzo, also known as the Certosa di Padula, is one of the oldest Carthusian monasteries in Italy and the second largest in Europe after the monastery of Grenoble. Located within the Parco Nazionale del Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni, it is one of the region's most significant monastic complexes for its architectural and historical value.
The monumental complex is distinguished by its impressive layout, featuring an entrance courtyard with areas once dedicated to daily work, the church, four cloisters and an Italian-style garden, reflecting its extraordinary architectural and cultural heritage.
