This trail follows the historic path taken by pilgrims for centuries as they ascend the slopes of Mount Gelbison to reach the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Monte Sacro. Located in the heart of the Parco Nazionale del Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni, the route passes through chestnut and beech forests, alternating between ancient stone mule tracks and dirt paths immersed in dense woodland.
From the summit, a wide panorama opens over the Cilento region, the Gulf of Salerno, and the inland Campanian mountains. On exceptionally clear days, the view can extend as far as Calabria.
